ASK someone who doesn’t like you so much if this is a good bio:
ethan mermelstein
is a writer and director living in QUEENS, NY. Ok, it’s me now, I’ll write in first person and stop pretending like I didn’t just spend way too long yelling at my computer screen while I tried to build this website. Honestly, it’s really not that bad, right? Truly shocked that I was able to figure this out. Thank you SquareSpace for being a user-friendly platform for creatives of all types. Anyway, how are you?
I enjoy working with professional actors, as well as first timers. My first short starred my grandmother and a taxi driver I befriended while working as a hotel doorman. I tend to write grounded, dark comedies. My short films have screened at festivals across the country, including Palm Springs ShortFest, NoBudge, and Indie Memphis. My feature screenplay, “The Zuckermans,” was an awarded screenplay at SIFF and a finalist for the Nantucket Screenwriters Colony. I worked as a script coordinator on shows including “Girls” and “Nurse Jackie.” And I’m finishing up my MFA in filmmaking at Columbia right now!
